What is IP DEPOT?
IP DEPOT is a digital platform, specifically a website, created by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) for Intellectual Property (IP) owners to promote their IP assets for potential commercialization opportunities. It was established to provide people with patented inventions, registered trademarks, copyright and industrial designs an avenue to showcase their IP assets to the world.
What IP assets can be featured in the IP DEPOT?
Any Intellectual Property categorized below that can be offered for licensing or sale;
- Patented Inventions - Any inventions patented through IPOPHL or those that have passed the initial publication stage. Highlighting the advantages over existing technologies.
- Utility Models – Any innovation with existing and valid registration with IPOPHL
- Trademarks - Trademarks and Service marks.
- Copyright - Any original artistic or literary work.
- Industrial Designs - any industrial design that has been registered with IPOPHL.
What are the other features of the IP DEPOT?
Aside from being a promotional platform for IP owners, IP DEPOT can also be used for:
Individuals or companies may post their requirements to solve technical problems that need solutions, so that, experts from universities or other institutions may work on technical solutions prior to mutual agreement. Such exchange may result to partnerships or technical collaborations between individuals and/or companies/institutions.
