MAPA NG LOOB
Description
The Masaklaw na Panukat ng Loob (Mapa ng Loob) is a personality inventory developed by the Personality Research Laboratory of the UP Department of Psychology under the leadership of Prof. Gregorio E. H. del Pilar. It is a 188-item instrument that measures 22 Filipino trait constructs as shown in the table below. The constructs were chosen to operationalize the well-known Five-Factor Model of personality traits, considered by many as a breakthrough model in the area of personality psychology. The model has been adopted by many researchers and practitioners around the world, and thus benefits from rapidly-accumulating academic research. The research on the Mapa ng Loob, presented in national and international psychology conferences since 2011, has shown it to have very satisfactory psychometric properties. Its development is the subject of a paper that has been submitted to the Philippine Journal of Psychology. On July 4, 2014, the authors of the Mapa ng Loob (Del Pilar, Christie P. Sio, Louie P. Cagasan, Jr., Antonia C. Siy, and Adrianne John R. Galang) turned over the copyright of the instrument to the Chancellor of UP Diliman.
