METAL BRIGHT

Patent Number: PH-1-2019-050274

Patent Title: Metal Polish otherwise known as SDSSU Metal Brite

Description

This technology provides an alternative way to clean metal rust.

Technical Merits:

Metal Bright is a cleaning and polishing composition that removes dirt or rust in metals at a lower cost. This product comprises sustainable materials such as powdered seashells, rice hulls, and citric acid.

Seashells contain calcium carbonate, a known abrasive material when powdered, while rice hulls are a potential source of amorphous reactive silica when burned. Meanwhile, citric acid is known for eliminating, loosening, and purifying sticky spot stains. These formulation components chemically react with the tarnish on metal while leaving the metal unaffected, making it convenient and efficient to use.

Applications & Commercial Opportunities:

There are numerous metal polishes available in the market, generally made of pumice powder and silica. However, the problem with the commercially available products is that they are relatively expensive and are not always readily available in the locality.

This technology is economical as it offers a low-cost alternative that uses waste ingredients that are abundant in a community.

Also, the product itself is easy to use, environmental-friendly, and non-toxic. There is no need to use a respirator and does not require special handling during application. In addition, Metal Bright has been tested to various stainless steel regularly found in a household - knife, grass cutter, scissor, baluster, and the likes – proving that this invention quickly and easily restores the original shine to your metalwork.
